About two years ago Dean and I came to the realization that we needed to make some changes to our lifestyle for health’s sake. By eating more whole foods and exercising, we made some amazing progress! I lost about 25 pounds. About eight months ago, I decided that I was ready to also give up smoking. And I put on most of the weight that I had lost. I tried not to give myself too much hell about it, though, because I have already proven that I am capable of weight loss. I needed to be just as capable of giving up cigarettes. After Christmas, I realized that I had traded on crutch for another and set out to find my healthy eating and exercise habits again. My goal was to lose that twenty pounds before my birthday at the end of April. I reached my goal today. This is what it looks like:
It ain’t pretty. (It could be smiling a little more…but dang I was HOT!!!) I celebrated with an ass kicking workout. It worked. My ass is kicked. And happily so. I look forward to a summer of breathing easier, moving easier, feeling more confident and happier. Here’s to living life intentionally. It may not be pretty and it may be hard as hell some days, but it is oh, so worth it!
I hope ya’ll get out and intentionally enjoy the sunshine this weekend! We’ve earned it after last night’s storms! Peace and hope and love and strength to you, my friends!
